Franco Banfi is a professional wildlife photographer and photo-journalist, well known for his expertise and accuracy in underwater imaging. He specializes in leading photo expeditions and in giving workshops and seminars about photography in different locations around the world.
An award-winning photographer (World Champion in underwater photography in Cuba), Franco regularly receives top honors from the more prestigious international photo-competitions as Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY), Nature’s Best, International Conservation Photography Awards (ICP Awards), International Photography Awards (IPA), etc.
Internationally, he has become known for his versatility. He has meticulously documented a lot of uncommon animals and locations, wildlife and human relationship with nature, in environments from the Equator to the Poles. His reportages have been published in countless publications and renowned magazines around the world (to named the few : GEO, National Geographic, Animan, Focus, Red Bulletin magazine, Terre Sauvage). Franco pursues stories that both will increase awareness about the sea and will celebrate the majestic beauty of the underwater world.
Franco is currently an Explorer of Ambassadors program of Canon Europe, he is member of IEPA.org (International Environment Photographers Association) and Wild Wonders of Europe.
