I have been using the SECA 1500 on night rides for about two and a half months now and it lives up to my expectations in every way. My rides are usually about two hours long and I've never run out of battery. It seems like a big jump to go to a SECA from other L&M models and competitors models but you are getting what you pay for and despite always having a lot of choices, this is my fourth L&M bike light. The head is very light with the outboard battery pack, everything is very all-weather tolerant, and you get what has to be the most perfect light dispersion pattern for mountain bike riding. Race mode is a great feature and that is the way I use it most of the time. Even the "Low" setting is incredibly bright and sufficient for most situations. Really the only time I need "High" is if I'm bombing down hill at high speed or if the riders behind me have really bright lights putting my shadow directly in front of me. I also use a STELLA 500 on my helmet which gives me light anywhere I turn my head and the redundancy to ensure I am not caught out in the dark without a light.

excellent bike light!

L&M is not a large company, and is made up of around 50 full-time
employees, all working under one roof. This gives L&M the ability to
be flexible in an ever-changing market. “We can update products and
innovate much quicker than our competitors,” explains Jacob. “We can
update to a more efficient LED, reprogram our lights or redesign a
mold to improve assembly workflow. Most businesses would have to
wait out an entire season before they could make changes like that”.

It’s advantages like these that keep L&M competitive in the market.
The feel-good factor of buying local can only get you so far in a market
where consumers are becoming increasingly comfortable buying Asian
made products, whether it’s a $100 light or a $6,000 mountain bike.
Like every other brand, L&M has had to innovate to stay ahead of the
curve.

The Seca 1500 is a masterpiece in design and performance. This light emits enough lumens to fill a stadium, much less a dark section of trail in front of me. It’s sleek design and power make it one of my favorites.

Cyclocross season is my favorite times of year. Fall is here, the trees start to change and the temps start to drop. With that come shorter days and an even bigger need to ride with lights.

Throughout the summer time I put in long rides with big miles in order to lay down a nice base leading into the short, intense season of Cross. Once the racing begins training changes to become more specific in time and effort in order to mimic the aggressive nature of the races. I try to use all of my bikes in order to hone each specific skill needed, and with that I need a light to match my riding.

I do quite a bit of riding off road to keep the technical skills sharp and whether it be riding my mountain bike Seca1500 on single track, or my CX bike on fire roads I need a light to illuminate the way and the bright output of the Seca lights definitely gets the job done!
