I made the switch!

My Urban 850 and Seca 2000 Race are working perfectly for me and some of the 24 hours events I have done, lately. In fact, I need to get another race battery for the upcoming season, which I will handle later.

I only used NiteRider for so long. So glad I made the switch!

"Field test results: The wrecking crew rides in a swelteringly hot region of Southern California, so night riding is a great way for us to beat the heat. The Seca 2000 Race has become our go-to light for these rides. To say this light is bright would be an understate- ment. It creates a tunnel of daylight for all your night-riding endeavors.
All you need to operate the Seca 2000 is an index finger and a few brain cells. The control button on the light’s head is so big that even in complete darkness a blind swat toward the han- dlebar would probably toggle the light on. With a single button being the only control, it’s essential for the interface to be a no-brainer, and the Seca 2000 Race has tackled it flawlessly.
Six LEDs allow not only maximum brightness but also offer an optimal beam pattern and angle. The Seca 2000 Race’s beam is directed everywhere you need it, which is never in a single area. Each LED is specifically aimed to flood the entirety of your view. Even in the lowest setting, the light is plenty for any kind of climbing. With its lumen brightness, effective beam pat- tern and
Impact-resistance all arching or exceeding ANSI FL1 Standards, you can rest assured that every dollar you spend on this light is put toward its marketed features." - Mountain Bike Action, September 2014

I have spent my fair share of time in the dark and I've been using Light and Motion for more than 10 years to power my adventures.

I first started working with Light & Motion in my adventure racing days. I only rode a bike because it was part of the bigger picture of adventure racing. I walked Interbike trade show with a teammate and looked at every bike light company there. I had only used a regular headlamp and knew nothing about light technology. After a quick, in-depth education our team chose to use Light and Motion for two reasons. First, was the absolute quality of the product. L&M's background is in underwater lighting equipment. If they can build a light for those intense conditions, a mountain bike light should be a breeze. They were far ahead of the curve at that time and they still continue to set the trends. The second reason we chose Light & Motion was the clearly passionate and friendly people we talked to at the booth. We did not get the brush off or a canned speech. Instead, real riders got super excited to show us their hard work.

For thousands of miles of night riding around the world, I have never been disappointed with my decision that day. They are super bright, insanely durable and the company keeps innovating. I have won 3 24 Hour World Championships and set many endurance records with Light & Motion lighting the way.

This used to be the Seca 400 many moons ago and it grew up to be the Seca 1400 with 1400 Lumens. It was plenty bright but the price was too much at $700. Last year, they increased the brightness and efficiency to put out 1700 Lumens in a beam pattern that puts the light where you need it. The latest incarnation of this groundbreaking head unit is a 2000 Lumen powerhouse for $500.

But the real story is still the beam pattern as much of the light is pointed to the ground and the sides. Very little of the light is wasted into empty space. So hats off to Light & Motion for reviving one the best designed light heads ever made in the bike market.
