L&M is not a large company, and is made up of around 50 full-time
employees, all working under one roof. This gives L&M the ability to
be flexible in an ever-changing market. “We can update products and
innovate much quicker than our competitors,” explains Jacob. “We can
update to a more efficient LED, reprogram our lights or redesign a
mold to improve assembly workflow. Most businesses would have to
wait out an entire season before they could make changes like that”.

It’s advantages like these that keep L&M competitive in the market.
The feel-good factor of buying local can only get you so far in a market
where consumers are becoming increasingly comfortable buying Asian
made products, whether it’s a $100 light or a $6,000 mountain bike.
Like every other brand, L&M has had to innovate to stay ahead of the
curve.

I was on a photo assignment for Canadian Geographic Magazine and took the Stella lights along to light our way. It was quite an epic assignment.

I used the Stellas extensively. I rigged three of them on a helmet and that was a hell of a setup. I put it on caver's heads as much as I could and got some fantastic shots.

Having water-resistant lights is priceless in wet caves. Rappels in waterfalls always get cavers scared because it could destroy all their lights all at once and leave them in the dark. The Stella worked beautifully in these extremes.

While adventure racing I am often in and out of water while traveling down wet canyons, I chose to swim across lakes to save time instead of running around (even at night), and we always get wet when paddling either from rapids, swampy portages, and always from my team mates's paddle spray. When I'm in the boat I need to have lights that can take abuse – be dropped, take a wave of salt water, and then be stuffed away in a humid backpack and pulled out again - I can depend on the Stella to work in all conditions, all weather.

I am a multisport athlete that enjoys a range of sports year-round. I enjoy skiing, running, cycling and swimming. Often, with my busy work schedule and now being a dad, many of my workouts are early morning and evenings when the sun has left the sky. I need a light that is strong enough for 6+ hours of night/morning skiing missions as well as epic cycling tours on the road and mountain bike.

The Stella 500 gives me a super-light and versatile light I can use year-round for every sport I do. The Li-ion battery is powerful enough to run in the winter without being affected by the cold and the duration is ample for the Grand Traverse with 6 hours of darkness! I can use the same head mount as skiing for night trail runs and never have issues with brightness/clarity.

For cycling when used on the helmet and coupled with the SECA 2000, I can have superior night clarity for all night excursions such as 24-hour events and MTB races like the Vapor Trail. Thanks to Light & Motion lights I can train and race where ever and whenever I need.

The Stella 500 gives me a super-light and versatile light I can use year-round for every sport I do.
